A guide on how to write a resume that stands out from the crowd
Key Information

Name: Write it in a larger font to make it prominent
Email: Provide the email you have been applying for jobs with
Contact: Indicate a mobile number which you frequently use
Include your LinkedIn profile link (optional but encouraged)
Summary of Your Skills
Summarise your skills in a few bullet points
Use keywords found in the job description
Include hard (e.g., writing, programming skills, etc.) and soft skills (e.g., effective communicator, team player, etc.) in this section
Qualifications
As a fresh graduate, the heart of your resume isyour education. Place your education right after your summary if you have no work or internship experiences. This is where you back up the points that you have made in your summary by linking them to modules or courses you took.
Work Experiences
This section demonstrates your contributions to the organisations, leadership qualities, and the responsibilities you were entrusted with. Your potential employers will be confident of entrusting you with leadership opportunities or higher responsibilities, knowing that you have had prior experiences.
Volunteer Work and Activities

Many employers are interested to know what you do outside of work. Showing this speaks volumes about your character and passion for things apart from work. It can also demonstrate your leadership ability that makes up for the short fall in your work experiences as a fresh graduate.
Awards and Achievements
Showcase your achievements to help you stand outfrom the crowd. Not everyone wins awards, and these accolades show that you have been recognised for something you were dedicated to. These are traits that employers look out for.
Do You Know?

Some companies use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to screen resumes. The AI shortlists candidates using keywords. As the screening is computerised, it may not recognise images or certain layouts.
Therefore, the words that you use in your resume are extremely important, and you are recommended to prepare your resume in the file type and format indicated by the employer.
