Make Your Goals Visible and SMART
Start by writing down your goals and keeping them in a visible place. This simple act serves as a daily reminder and anchor of commitment. To ensure goals remain realistic, use the SMART framework—specific, measurable, achievable, relevant, and time-bound. Research shows that SMART goals provide clarity and make success more attainable (Institute for Adult Learning, 2020).
Break Big Goals into Smaller Steps
Ambitious goals can feel intimidating if left too broad. Breaking them into smaller process goals provides manageable milestones. Using a goal-tracking sheet or checklist allows you to tick off progress step by step. This visible sense of achievement creates satisfaction and motivation, helping us to keep going (University of Kansas, 2023).
Overcome Obstacles Along the Way
Progress rarely happens without setbacks. Procrastination and loss of motivation are common barriers.
